Description:
Companies are becoming increasingly dependent on their Information Systems for strategic decision-making and for the optimization of their processes, being critical the adequate and safe management of the information they handle. Information Systems are rapidly evolving into more complex environments that incorporate new features and devices that enable greater flexibility. ability to know and intelligently manage a large amount of information. This information does not only come from sources such as classic data but also the quantification of the real world, converting the classic Information Systems into new Systems. that not only operate in the digital world but also act on the real world, giving rise to what, increasingly is often referred to as Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS Cyber-Physical Systems).
These new systems have sensorization, computation, storage, performance and intercommunication capabilities that support the tracking and control of real-world objects. Because of their distributed nature in a physical environment, CPS requires intelligent processing on the devices themselves and communication and collaboration with others forcing data integration heterogeneous, using technologies such as Cloud Computing, Big Data and Internet of Things (IoT).
SCP has become the focus of interest for all types of actors (academia, industry, governments, etc.) because of the influence they have. and can have in society, industry, the economy and the environment. This integrated paradigm improves the quality of life of citizens and provides advances, among others, in e-health, emergency management, traffic and transport, Industry 4.0, defence, energy, Smart Hotels or Smart Farming.
These combined systems, intelligent, and with a permanent connection to the Internet have led to the emergence of scenarios with high interaction between the real and virtual world and force to provide scalability and security solutions of existing architectures. Thus, the main objective of this project is to provide models, methods and techniques that enable organizations to successfully address projects in the new context of computing with CPS, focusing mainly on four areas of improvement of CPS, which are, processes in organization, business analytics, data quality and integration, and cybersecurity. These areas of improvement cover three different levels of abstraction: (i) organizational and strategic dimension, (i) the design and construction of SCP, and (iii) the operation and maintenance of these systems.
The four working groups have managed to arrive at a sufficiently global vision of the problem to be solved, providing their knowledge and experience. Thus, a highly integrated project is proposed following a work plan with strongly defined tasks. cohesive. There are no isolated subprojects from the point of view of research, but a coordinated integrated project that benefits from the combination of the knowledge of the different nodes. We are completely convinced that without this the objectives of ECLIPSE would not be achievable through independent projects and therefore this project is requested in the coordinated project modality.
